Share Pin from Pinterest

Found a pin on Pinterest that someone else really needs to see? Then simply share it.

Pinterest is a gathering place for everything that inspires. From furniture to art and from gardening to baking; users pin interesting images (and sometimes videos) to their digital bulletin boards. The images are called ‘pins’. Share a pin if an acquaintance, friend or family member really needs to see it.

Anyone who uses Pinterest via the browser shares a Pin as follows:

  • surf to Pinterest and log in, if you are not already logged in.
  • Click on the Pin you want to share.
  • Click the ‘Share’ icon at the top of the Pin Share a post on Pinterest and choose how the pin should be shared.
    • Click the email, WhatsApp, Twitter or Facebook icon to share the Pin on any of those platforms. How the steps proceed further differs per platform.
    • click on Copy link to copy the link to the Pin and paste it elsewhere, such as in a presentation. Paste the link using the shortcut Ctrl + V.
    • If you know that the other person also uses Pinterest, type their name or email address in the ‘Name or email address’ box and click the red button Send.

Share a Pin in the Pinterest app like this:

  • Open the app and log in if necessary.
  • Tap the Pin you want to share.
  • Tap the ‘Share’ icon at the bottom of the pin Share icon (Android) (Android) or Share icon (iPhone) (iPhone).
  • Choose how to share the Pin.
    • In the overview of apps, tap one of the platforms, such as Facebook and WhatsApp. If the app you want to share the Pin with is not listed, tap More and find the right app.
    • If you know that the other person also uses Pinterest, type their name or email address in the Search by name or email box and tap the red button Send.

Did someone else share a Pin with you? It is not automatically saved to your board(s). So you still have to save it yourself.

  • Open the app or program where the Pin was shared with you. For example, if someone sent it via WhatsApp, open WhatsApp and tap the link in the message.
  • The Pin opens in Pinterest. Tap the red button save.
  • Choose which board to keep the pin on. In the app it says ‘Save’ below the pin, in the web version the button is just above it.
