Shoei X-SPR Pro: only the best is good enough

Although the hyper-sporty X-Spirit III was the absolute top of the Shoei helmet collection, it had already been around for a few years, so it was time for a thorough update. And the Japanese helmet specialist has, in its own words, pulled out all the stops.

Shoei X-SPR Pro: only the best is good enough

The successor, which complies with the new ECE 22.06 standard and is also certified by the FIM, is therefore not called X-Spirit IV, but listens to the name X-SPR Pro, if only to indicate that no stone has been left untouched. .

That starts with the basics, ie the helmet shell, which is again made of a proven and lightweight AIM+ multi-composite fiber laminate (in four sizes), but is otherwise completely redesigned.

At extremely high speeds, the aerodynamic properties must be beyond doubt. The new design, designed in its own wind tunnel and finally thoroughly tested in practice by the MotoGP riders, has therefore been modified in more than 150 points, with an eye not only for straight-line stability at high speed, but also in corners.

Matching the optimized and partly patented shape of the helmet shell is the new CWR-F2R visor with an extra wide and high field of view, which comes with a Pinlock anti-fog visor as standard and is prepared for the use of tear-offs.

The ventilation system, which now has seven intakes and six exhaust vents, has also been further optimized, with ventilation being even more effective in racing position. The highly innovative ventilation that cools the cheek pads has also been further developed.

Like its predecessor, the X-SPR Pro is also prepared for the use of a hydration system and equipped with, among other things, an Emergency Quick Release System (EQRS), an adjustable helmet position, double D closure and a removable and washable antibacterial inner liner.

The cheek pads, which are also removable, are available in three thicknesses, so that you can adjust the fit to your own preference. Thanks to the Shoei Personal Fitting System (€ 60.00), fully personal customization is also available.

The X-SPR Pro, which Shoei describes nicely as a thoroughbred racing helmet whose sportiness really drips from every pore, is available in sizes XS to XXL. It comes standard with nose and chin spoiler, Pinlock Evo anti-fog visor, chincurtain and a luxury helmet bag.

Initially, the X-SPR Pro will only be available in three uni colours, namely black, matt black and white. Gradually the color spectrum is expanded with various decors, replicas and other versions. Prices start at €799 for the three colors that will initially be launched, the Graphic versions will cost €899 and the Replicas will cost €949.
