Siri is about to take an impressive step forward. With iOS 19, Apple introduces a completely new voice assistant that really does everything you ask. This is what you can expect from the future of Siri!
Siri in iOS 19: smarter through a new language model
Although iOS 18 is still in development, Apple is already looking ahead to the next major update: iOS 19. This version brings a revolutionary upgrade to Siri, powered by a Large Language Model (LLM). This advanced language model ensures that Siri not only becomes smarter, but also communicates more naturally.
According to Bloomberg, Apple is currently intensively testing the new ‘LLM Siri’, although it still works via a separate app. With the release of iOS 19, that app will disappear and the updated Siri will completely take over the current interface.
What makes this new version of Siri so special? The voice assistant becomes much more human in its interactions, comparable to tools such as ChatGPT and Google Gemini. In addition, you will soon be able to operate third-party apps more easily and gain access to advanced features of Apple Intelligence. Siri does not just become smarter with iOS 19, but a real digital assistant.
When can you expect Siri in iOS 19?
Unfortunately, we still have to be patient. Apple traditionally unveils iOS 19 during WWDC in June 2025. The update itself will not be released until September of that year, together with the new iPhone. But beware: the updated Siri with LLM will probably only come in a later update, sometime in the spring of 2026.
What does iOS 18 bring to Siri?
Siri is also active in iOS 18. iOS 18.1 allows the assistant to perform multiple commands at once and adds a handy typing feature. And there is more to come: so brings iOS 18.2 integration with ChatGPT for even smarter interactions. For iOS 18.3 Better context recognition and more advanced app control are planned.
Siri is already taking big steps with iOS 18, but the real revolution awaits in iOS 19. So just be patient!
