Skoda has a new body style of the electric Enyaq iV in the development rooms. It will probably surprise no one that this is not an extra spacious variant, but a version with a more steeply sloping roofline and therefore less headroom in the back.

Volkswagen gave the ID4 in the form of the ID5 last year a brother with a more strongly sloping roofline and Skoda’s Enyaq IV also gets such a variant. It was clear from the outset that the Enyaq iV will receive such a ‘coupé version’. The Enyaq forerunner Vision iV, presented more than two years ago, was already what car manufacturers nowadays tend to call a ‘Coupé SUV’. Skoda previously indicated that the new variant of the Enyaq iV will be unveiled in January and will release two new design sketches of the Enyaq Coupé iV in the run-up to that moment.

Up to the B-pillar, the Skoda Enyaq Coupé iV is just an Enyaq iV as you already know it, but behind it the roofline tapers off to flow smoothly into the tailgate. How Skoda has designed the back exactly is something the brand keeps under wraps. The buttocks of the Vision iV undoubtedly give a good indication of this. Under the flattened rear is a luggage space that with 570 liters is slightly smaller than that of the regular Enyaq iV Coupé (585 liters). While the Enyaq Coupé iV’s sloping roofline takes some cubic inches of headroom and luggage space, it also delivers in another area. For example, the new variant of the electric SUV cuts through the air just as more efficiently than the Enyaq iV. The cW value of the Enyaq Coupé iV is 0.25, while the regular Enyaq iV notes 0.27 behind that cup.

Skoda previously indicated that the Enyaq iV would appear at dealers ‘early 2022’ and, just like the Enyaq iV, will be available in various power variants. The Enyaq Coupé iV comes as an iV 60 with a 58 kWh battery and a 180 hp electric motor on the rear axle. The 80 iV will be the version with 77 kWh battery and 204 hp electric motor at the rear. This variant should be able to achieve a range of 535 kilometers. That is 25 kilometers more than the regular Enyaq 80 iV. Is there more iV fun in store? Secure. Skoda also comes with a four-wheel drive 265 hp iV 80X and a real 306 hp RS version.

The Skoda Enyaq Coupé iV will be unveiled on January 31, so just a little patience.
