Skoda has just introduced the Kushaq, a new compact crossover that is quite similar in size to the Kamiq. The Kushaq also fits well in terms of design between the already known crossovers and SUVs from Skoda. However, there is one but …
In recent times, Skoda has repeatedly shown teasers of the Kushaq, a compact crossover that has now been presented in its entirety. The Kushaq is the production version of the Vision In Concept presented last year. That car served as a preview of a crossover specially developed for the Indian market. Although the Kushaq will also be sold outside India, Skoda previously confirmed to Techzle that the crossover will not come to the Netherlands. The Indian market can also use the Kushaq well. Skoda’s model range in India currently consists of the Rapid, Octavia and Superb.

However, that does not have to be a great loss. The Kushaq is in fact 4.22 meters long and therefore it would be too close to the 4.24 meter long Kamiq. The Kamiq is on the MQB-A0 platform that is found under many models of the Volkswagen Group. The Kushaq also uses this basis, although it is a cheaper version specially adapted for growth markets. The wheelbase of the Kushaq is 2.65 meters, the same as that of the Kamiq. The luggage compartment has a capacity of 385 liters, 15 liters less than the Kamiq. Incidentally, 95 percent of the parts of the Kushaq come from Indian suppliers.

The Kushaq has a rather aggressive-looking front, complete with two-layered lighting as we know it from more SUVs and crossovers from Skoda. LED headlights and rear lights are also present. On the back, the Kushaq shows similarities with the Kamiq, but also with the Scala. Also characteristic Skoda design in the interior. The Kushaq has a dashboard of which the middle part more or less matches that of, for example, the Kamiq. Here, too, an infotainment screen, up to 10-inch in size, with two horizontal ventilation grilles underneath. The ventilation grilles that sit all the way on the corners of the dashboard are, just like the Karoq and Kodiaq, vertically oriented copies. Optionally, Skoda supplies an electric sunroof and the crossover will soon even be available with ventilated and leather-covered front seats. The Honey Orange color has been mixed especially for the Kushaq

In addition to a 115 hp 1.0 TSI, the engine list also includes a 150 hp TSI. The 1.5 will in any case also be available with a DSG7 automatic transmission if desired. As mentioned, the Kushaq will not come to the Netherlands, not even at a later stage.
