Skoda will add an RS version to the delivery range of the new Octavia in the very short term. Thanks to our espionage photographer, we can already show your car almost completely!
In about a week, Skoda will present the brand new RS version of the Octavia, a car that will be placed under the brand’s iV label. Those two letters do not mean, as with the Citigo iV, that the Octavia RS is a fully electric model. Just like with the Superb iV, it indicates that the car is a plug-in hybrid.
The Octavia RS iV gets a 245 hp plug-in hybrid powertrain, making the new Octavia RS 15 hp more powerful than its predecessor. The sporting aspirations of the Octavia RS must also be seen from the outside and so Skoda gives the car bodykit that consists of sporty-looking bumpers and side skirts. Skoda only applies some tape to this gray test copy in the bumper work.
The light metal on these photos does not seem to be the final set, since the Octavia RS will undoubtedly get its characteristic RS wheels with five ’round’ openings. During the Geneva Motor Show we will learn more about the sporty Czech.
