Modern Solid
Skoda shows a special image at the presentation of the financial figures today. On it we see an as yet unknown concept car that heralds a new chapter for the Czech brand.
Skoda shows the as yet unnamed newcomer only on the vague image above and sticks the not too revealing denominator ‘Modern Solid’ on it. That’s the name Skoda gives to its new design language and what this car is the epitome of. Undoubtedly a study model. According to Skoda, we’ll get to see it this year, so waiting for more information will be rewarded fairly quickly.
It seems, how could it be otherwise, to be an SUV. An electrically powered SUV to be precise, because according to Skoda, ‘Modern Solid’ is a response to ‘customers’ rapidly changing charging requirements’. Not only that, the focus should also be more on family and outdoor life. Nice words, although of course it doesn’t say much about this specific concept car. In any case, it seems that the fairly angular high-legged model is a lot more minimalistic than we are used to from Skoda. Particularly striking is the front, in which the current Skoda family face is not really clearly reflected. In particular, the vertically oriented headlights give it a completely different nose than we are used to from the brand.
According to Skoda, more examples of Modern Solid will follow after this car in the coming year. We are cautiously counting on Skoda to unveil this study model next summer and so it will not stop there for Skoda in 2022 in terms of visual future music.
