Skoda announces a fully electric SUV, built on Volkswagen’s MEB platform. The car is named Enyaq.

After the Kamiq, Karoq and Kodiaq models, Skoda will continue to introduce new SUVs. The next one is a fully electric one that is named Enyaq. This name is derived from the Irish ‘Enya’ which means something like ‘life force’ or ‘source of life’. The added ‘q’ shows that the model belongs to the SUV family.

The Enyaq will be the first Skoda model to be built on the MEB platform of parent company Volkswagen. MEB stands for ‘Modularen E-Antriebs-Querbaukasten’ or the base plate for electrically driven cars. The Czech brand wants to present at least ten such models (including plug-in hybrids) under the Skoda iV sub-brand until the end of 2022. The Skoda Citigo e iV kicks off this spring, later the Enyaq follows.
