The completely redesigned Sonos app supports all existing S2 products and will be available via a software update for the S2 app and via a completely new web app. Read here what changes thanks to the new functions.

According to Sonos, the new Sonos app and associated platform should give listeners full control and a personalized experience that makes listening easier, faster and better. Users can now organize their favorite playlists, stations and albums from over 100 streaming services on one customizable home screen. With one swipe up, the home screen provides access to the controls of the entire Sonos system. This makes jumping from tab to tab a thing of the past.

New functions
Faster in the music (and out of the app): Tapping from tab to tab is no longer necessary. The new home screen puts all your favorite content and controls together in the same place. Quickly find what you’ve recently played, browse libraries and recommendations from favorite services, and fill your home with the music and sounds you love.
Adjust and select: Enjoy all the choices by customizing your home screen to reflect how you listen. Pin, move, edit or organize rows of your favorite content and services the way you want.
Search any streaming library: Search for an artist, song, podcast or audiobook across all your favorite streaming services at once via an easy-to-use search bar that’s always on your home screen.
Improved system controls: No matter where you are in the app, at any time you can swipe up from the bottom of your home screen to control your entire system, access a visual overview of what’s playing on each product, quickly group speakers and find the perfect volume to elect.

Price and availability
A free, brand new web app, accessible via any modern internet browser, allows listeners to operate their system as easily as with the free mobile app. The web app replaces the existing Sonos desktop controller and, like the updated mobile app, will be available on May 7, 2024.
