Sonos will release the successor to its first portable Roam speaker in June with the Sonos Roam 2. In addition, the long-awaited Sonos headphones are expected to be announced at the end of May.

Audio manufacturer Sonos is an authority in the field of speakers, as you can read in our reviews of the Move 2, Era 100 and the compact soundbar Ray. The Sonos Roam is also a popular small portable speaker that has been available since 2021. A successor to this Roam will be released soon, according to Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman.

Sonos Roam 2
In terms of design, the Sonos Roam 2, just like the Sonos Era 100 and Era 300, should have a touch control panel on top and also a volume control. In addition, it will probably be slightly smaller.
The most important improvement regarding the Roam 2 is the resolution of the Bluetooth issues. Roam users sometimes complained about the loss of the Bluetooth connection and this should no longer be a problem with this new model.

New app from Sonos
That is why Sonos is also working on a new app, according to Gurman. However, it is (initially) not compatible for all devices, but should only support the Roam 2 and the new Sonos headphones.

Sonos headphones
There have been rumors about the new Sonos headphones from Sonos for a long time. It is expected that Sonos will also announce these high-end headphones at the end of May or beginning of June. This will have a hefty price tag: it is expected to be around $450.
