Noise Canceling WH-1000XM6
Powered by the striking processor and an adaptive microphone system, the noise canceling of the WH-1000XM6 is optimized in real time. With a processing speed that is seven times higher than its predecessor, the HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3 coordinates twelve microphones in real time. That is 4 times more than with its predecessor the WH-1000XM5 and must therefore provide better noise canceling and sound quality. Thanks to the twelve microphones, noise is detected even more accurately and the noise canceling adapts to you and your environment.
Sony’s new Adaptive NC Optimiser must offer precision in Noise Canceling by adapting to both ambient noise and air pressure. In addition, the specially designed driver unit is optimally tailored to improved noise reduction.
The Auto Ambient Sound mode has improved in real-time adaptation to your environment. Multiple microphones filter disturbing noise or let it go through what is important: broadcasting messages, conversations or the sound of the world around you. You can also adjust settings automatically or adjust them manually in the Sony | Sound Connect app.
Comfort
The design of the WH-1000X series is refined thanks to an elegant, wider headband with a soft fit, covered with vegan leather for a pressure-free carrying experience. Thanks to the asymmetrical design of the headband you can see at a glance what the left and right side is. The ear cushions are specially designed for wearing comfort during the day, with a stretchable material that connects firmly but softly and at the same time excludes external sounds. With the intuitive operation you can easily switch between noise canceling, Ambient Sound and micro -damping via tangible buttons and a responsive touch panel. The folding mechanism of the WH-1000XM6 is made of strong metal, which must ensure a durable and flexible fold. The design fits easily in a bag, and the compact case now has a magnetic closure for quick and easy use.

Premium sound
The WH-1000XM6 headphones has been developed in collaboration with Mastering Engineers of three top studios in the music industry: Sterling Sound, Battery Studios and Coast Mastering. Partly because of this, it was designed with a specially developed driver unit that delivers clear sound details. The HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3 looks ahead in the sound for a more natural listening experience. This allows the WH-1000xm6 to predict and optimize noise, while responding quickly to sudden changes in sound. This provides brighter details, richer bass and a more natural listening experience.
The WH-100XM6 supports high-resolution audio and high-resolution audio wireless thanks to LDAC, Sony’s audio coding technology. In addition, the WH-1000XM6 Edge-Ai and Upscalet uses the DSEE Extreme algorithm compressed digital music files in real time to restore the high-frequency sound that is lost by compression.
The Sony | Sound Connect app makes it even easier to coordinate your entertainment experience to the WH-1000XM6. When listening to music you can set the right sound with the 10-bands EQ or create a spatial feeling with the background music effect. Gamers can also enjoy the Game EQ, developed with Sony’s expertise from the Zone series, to improve the sound quality for FPS games. For those who watch films along the way, the WH-1000X6 also has 360 reality Audio Upmix for Cinema, which mimics the spatial sound experience of a cinema with 2CH stereo sound through Sony’s unique Upmix and 360 Spatial Sound technology.

New functions WH-1000XM6
The WH-1000XM6 has scene-based listening, a new intuitive function that sensor technology uses to automatically play music based on your activities and to adapt the level of noise reduction to your environment and location. In addition to Quick Access and Scene-based listening, you can easily connect to the best music services, including Amazon Music (via “Amazon Music Play Now”), Apple Music, Spotify (via “Spotify Tap”) and YouTube Music.
The WH-1000XM6 offers Le Audio and Ultralage latency for gaming and effortless access to broadcasts with Auracast. Thanks to Multi-Point and Auto Switch you can switch between devices without any problems, so that you are always connected without interruptions.
With the WH-1000XM6 you can listen and charge at the same time: you can connect the USB charging cable and continue to listen to your favorite songs. And with three minutes of charging you can listen for up to three hours.
Sustainability
Sony has designed these headphones with the environment in mind. The packaging of the WH-1000XM6 is made of 100% paper and the use of Sony’s own paper, Original Blended Material, continues to be used for the packaging of the 1000X series (the WF-1000xm5, WF-1000xm4, WH-1000XM5 and WH-1000XM6). Original Blended Material is an environmentally conscious paper made of bamboo, sugar cane fibers and recycled paper.

The WH-1000XM6 is available from May 2025 in the colors black, platinum silver and Midnight Blue for a suggested retail price of € 450.
