Unfortunately, the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is canceled. However, this unfortunate fact does not prevent Sony from showing the new smartphone range from 2020. This year’s line-up consists of the Sony Xperia 1 II, the Xperia 10 II, and the previously announced Xperia L4. In this article we discuss the specifications and the price.
Xperia 1-II
Sony already attempted to gain ground in the smartphone landscape last year with the slender Xperia 1. This year, the Xperia 1 II or Xperia 1 mark II will be added. The naming may be somewhat confusing at first. In the camera line-up from Sony we have already seen that a new product is marked with mark II, as with the A7 and A9. The Xperia 1 mark II is in this case the new, improved version of the Xperia 1.
The Japanese manufacturer has once again chosen to use a 21: 9 4K HDR screen. The company acknowledges that people are increasingly consuming and consuming more media on their smartphone and are therefore happy to respond to this. With a 6.5-inch screen, stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos audio integration and Hi-Res Audio sound quality, it should be a pleasure to play games, watch movies and listen to music. Last year the 3.5mm jack was missing, this year it will be back again. The 360 ​​Reality Audio software should provide an even more spatial sound experience.
Sony seems to have listened carefully to the flaws of the Xperia 1. The Xperia 1 II focuses on high speed performance for photography and has made a number of improvements in terms of specifications. What is striking about the new 5G device from Sony is that the battery has a capacity of 4000mAh. The battery would be charged to 50% in 30 minutes. It is not entirely unimportant that the new smartphones can now also be charged wirelessly. The speed of loading is not yet known at the time of writing.
Sony bets high on the cameras. The Xperia 1 II can take 20 fps burst shots with 60 times per second AF / AE tracking. This makes it possible to continuously follow fast-moving objects with optimum focus. In addition, this device has the real-time Eye-AF technology. This technology is used to trace the eyes of humans and animals. For example, you could always keep an eye on your dog or cat running past. The Xperia 1 II can even be used as a display for the Japanese brand Alpha cameras.
In contrast to parties such as Samsung, OnePlus, Sony does not have a 90Hz display in its 2020 range. Sony indicates that the 4k display currently cannot switch between refresh rates. The smartphone is equipped with a motion blur option that should guarantee clear image quality during gaming, for example. All this is controlled via a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor.

Xperia 10-II
The mid-range model comes in the form of the Xperia 10 II. This device also has a 6-inch 21: 9 screen, just like its predecessor the Xperia 10. The three cameras are new. The 10-II has a 12 MP wide-angle lens, an 8 MP telephoto lens and an 8 MP ultra wide-angle lens. The battery capacity compared to the 10 goes from 2870 to 3600 mAh.
Sony is pleased with the developments in the field of water and dust tightness. The Xperia 10 II is IP65 and IP68 certified. In addition, the device has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on both the front and back. All this is controlled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665.
