WhatsApp is currently working on a feature to make voice messages automatically disappear after you listen to them. This is what you need to know about self-destructing audio messages via WhatsApp.
Self-destructing audio messages via WhatsApp
WhatsApp has been regularly releasing new features lately. You will soon be able to set up two WhatsApp accounts on one iPhone, send photos in HD quality and share your screen during a video call. A WhatsApp iPad app is also on the way.
You can also expect self-destructing audio messages via WhatsApp soon, as can be read on the website WABetaInfo. With this function you send an audio message that can only be listened to once. The message will then be deleted automatically. It is basically the same as the ‘One time view’ function, where you can view a photo or video once and it will automatically disappear.

Because the function has not yet been rolled out here, we cannot yet show what exactly it will look like on a Dutch iPhone. Website WABetaInfo does have a screenshot of the English version of the feature, which is basically the same. You can see it below.
On the left you will see a ‘1’ next to ‘Voice Message’. This indicates that you can only listen to the audio message once. On the right you will see that the audio message is greyed out. This means that you have already listened to the message and cannot do so again.
Release new WhatsApp feature
It is currently unclear when you can try out the self-destructing audio messages in WhatsApp yourself. Currently, the feature is only available in the beta version of WhatsApp. WABetaInfo also does not know when the official release will be. Since the feature is still in a testing phase, we expect it to take some time.
