Arrange incoming e-mails by date or preferably by name. You can do both in the Mail app in Windows 10.
Sort Windows Mail
The Mail app in Windows 10 sorts incoming emails by date by default. It is also possible to sort them by name (of the sender). That goes in the following way:
- Launch the Mail app.
- Click to the right of ‘Inbox’ or ‘Other’ Everything.
- click on Sort by name.
If you want to sort from newest to oldest again, follow the same steps and click in the last step on Sort by date.
The sorting in the Mail app has a few quirks to keep in mind:
- You will not see what the current sort is in the drop-down menu. But if you see gray bars with dates in your inbox between emails, you know that it is sorted by date.
- The sorting itself cannot be adjusted. If you choose date, the order will be sorted from newest to oldest. It is not possible to switch from old to new. The same applies to sorting by name. Only an alphabetical order from a to z is possible.
