Sotheby’s offers Schumacher Fireblade for auction

While he was still active as a Formula 1 driver, Michael Schumacher had discovered his love for engines and was spotted more than once on a Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade. The Fireblade was by Holzhauer Racing Performance, which was very successful in the German IDM championship at the time, specially prepared for Schumacher. It is a unique machine that only one has been made.

According to observers, Schumacher was not doing so badly at all, the 7-time F1 world champion was also attributed a great talent on two wheels. In any case, Schumacher certainly did not resign, on the Cartagena circuit in 2009 he went down at a speed of 230 km/h and ended up in the hospital, fortunately without serious injury.

His then Fireblade will be offered at the end of this month by auction house Sotheby’s in the online auction “The Champions – Schumacher and F1 Legends”, which runs from 23 – 29/30 July. The Fireblade, which only has 3,752 kilometers on the clock, is supplied with documents stating that Schumacher has driven it and that HRP is the owner.

Because less than 6,000 kilometers have been driven with the engine, it is seen as ‘new’ for VAT purposes. Due to the VAT requirements, the engine may only be sold for export and trade. Interested private buyers are requested to contact the auction house directly.

The Schumacher Fireblade is expected to deliver between € 25,000 and € 35,000. In addition, you also get a pair of gloves and a Schumacher helmet. The bike is offered without a reserve, which means that there is no lower limit and even the lowest bid is accepted.
