Small news from Toyota and Lexus: the specifications that Lexus provides for the new NX will also apply to models with the same technical basis in the future.
The new Lexus NX is built on Toyota’s TNGA-K platform. It shares its base with the Toyota RAV4, Toyota Camry and Lexus ES, among others. However, the NX has a bit more power than those cars. For example, the NX as a plug-in hybrid achieves 244 hp in all cases, while the RAV4, Camry and ES deliver 218 hp as front-wheel drives. The RAV4 Hybrid AWD is slightly stronger with 222 hp, but still has to recognize its superior in the NX. Incidentally, in the Netherlands we also know the Toyota Highlander on this basis, but with 248 hp it has a different power.
The new Lexus NX is also available as a plug-in hybrid, just like the Toyota RAV4. Where the plug-in hybrid with that model delivers 306 hp, an NX450h + comes to 309 hp. The difference is caused by an unspecified series of minor adjustments in the setting. During the presentation of the Lexus NX, Lexus confided that the changes will also apply to the technical brothers of the NX in the future. That seems and makes sense, but an official confirmation is always nice. Is noted.
