Spotify gets a completely new feature (which users have been waiting for for a long time)
Spotify has been working for years on ways to make music even more personal, which is why the music service will soon introduce a new feature. The name of this function? ‘Prompted Playlists’.
Instead of simply relying on automatic recommendations or fixed playlists, this lets you express what you’re looking for in your own words. Whether you fancy energetic music for on the go, something quiet to start your day with or a mix of genres that you normally don’t combine. Spotify’s AI creates a unique playlist.
What makes this feature special is that Spotify not only looks at your recent listening habits, but uses your entire listening history to create a well-suited result. The resulting playlist is not a static list, but a dynamic selection that you can refresh or adjust by simply changing your prompt.
The Prompted Playlist for Spotify will be released in New Zealand first. Spotify often releases new features on a limited basis before rolling them out worldwide. It will probably be the rest of the world’s turn sometime in 2026.

To view your Spotify Wrapped 2025, open the app and go to ‘Home’ in the bottom menu bar. Then select the ‘Wrapped’ option at the top right.
