Spotify has indicated That they will increase prices in different countries. On the site you can read that in South Asia, Africa and Europe you will now have to pay one euro more per month. Spotify then sends the email below to the affected customers.
In the Netherlands we now pay 12.99 euros. So we already pay a little more than it says in Spotify. In addition, we already had a price increase in April this year. After a check, Spotify indicated that this price increase does not come to the Netherlands and Belgium.
The prices in the Netherlands of all Spotify subscriptions are as follows:
- Premium individual: € 12.99 per month.
- Premium duo: € 17.99 per month.
- Premium Family: € 21.99 per month.
- Premium student: € 6.99 per month.
The prices in Belgium are slightly lower. There you pay 11.99 euros per month for an individual subscription. Only the students in Belgium pay just as much as the students in the Netherlands.
There is another subscription called Spotify Basic. This subscription was temporarily available for Premium Subscribers during the previous price increase from Spotify. You could then get Spotify for the old price, without the option for audio books. This option is not available separately and if you cancel this subscription you can no longer take it.
Spotify too expensive? Take Apple Music
Since the previous price increase from Spotify, Apple Music is the cheaper option. Apple Music also has some extra options, including Lossless Audio. This is something that Spotify has been working on for years but is still not available. The following prizes apply to Apple Music:
- Apple Music Individual: 10.99 euros.
- Apple Music Family: 16.99 euros.
- Apple Music students: 5.99 euros.
