Spotify becomes even more expensive with deluxe subscription
Spotify CEO has confirmed that Spotify is working on a new subscription plan. This new Spotify subscription will be added to the existing subscriptions and will be even more expensive.
According to director Daniel Elk, Spotify will then become about 5 dollars more expensive per month. Elk said this during a discussion about the quarterly figures of the music service. Spotify’s most expensive subscription is currently 10.99 euros per month. That would mean that Spotify Deluxe would probably cost around 15.99 euros.
But hey, if Spotify is going to introduce a Deluxe subscription that is going to be more expensive, you naturally want something in return. But what do you get with it? The director of Spotify was rather vague about that. He talks about all the advantages of the regular version of Spotify, but with more ‘control’, better sound quality and a number of things that he cannot (or does not want to) say anything about yet.
Cheaper Spotify subscription is also coming
Spotify is not only starting with a more expensive subscription in America, but is also coming with a cheaper variant. You then get a lower price per month in exchange for dropping audiobooks.
This cheaper option costs $10.99 per month and offers all the benefits of Spotify, such as ad-free playback. The only thing missing are audiobooks. Spotify’s standard Premium subscription costs $11.99. With the subscription, you save $1 per month.
Alternative to Spotify: Apple Music
