SsangYong XLV becomes Tivoli Grand

The names that SsangYong puts on the back of his models sometimes differ from country to country. Today the youngest name shuffle: the XLV comes to Europe in a sharpened form as Tivoli Grand.

SsangYong presented a facelifted version of the Tivoli to South Korean consumers in mid-2019. That updated model was later also presented in European form. We have not yet seen the longer brother of the Tivoli, the XLV, in a refreshed form. Until today.

SsangYong XLV (pre-facelift, 2016)

It should come as no surprise that SsangYong gives the facelifted XLV the same refreshed muzzle as the revised Tivoli. The XLV is by nature nothing more than a Tivoli with an overhang that is about 25 centimeters larger, which gives it a larger luggage space. SsangYong is taking advantage of the by-point session to give the crossover a new name. The XLV is now called Tivoli Grand, which makes its family relationship with the Tivoli on the European market much clearer. In South Korea, the XLV was already known from the outset as a member of the Tivoli family. It is simply called Tivoli Air there.

The Tivoli Grand further distinguishes itself from the XLV with a more sculpted rear bumper. The interior is changed in the same way as that of the regular Tivoli, which means that the interior of the Tivoli Grand also benefits from a modernized dashboard, complete with a new center console and a digital clock shop with a different canopy. The screen on the center console has a diameter of 9 inches.

In any case, the Tivoli Grand comes on the market with a 163 hp 1.5, a four-cylinder petrol engine with turbo. This power source can be linked to a manual six-speed gearbox, but also to an automatic gearbox with six gears. The luggage space is at 720 liters a lot more substantial than that of the regular Tivoli (427 liters). We are waiting for a response from the Dutch importer to our question when the model will come to our country.
