Streaming tips for films and series: Food for Thought, Sugar and A Gentleman in Moscow

Where does our food come from? Where does it go? What path does it take from production to our plate? In this four-part series, photographer and filmmaker Kadir van Lohuizen and director Doke Romeijn go in search of the world behind the food on our plates in the US, China, Kenya, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The series shows what often remains outside our field of vision.

Green beans and avocados from Kenya. The food on Dutch shelves travels an average of 30,000 kilometres before it reaches our plates. That is as far as to Australia and back. This abundance of products is the result of a complex and global system, in which the Netherlands plays a major role.

American detective John Sugar becomes embroiled in the mysterious disappearance of Olivia Siegel. She is the cherished granddaughter of iconic Hollywood mogul Jonathan Siegel.
