Subaru is slowly transitioning to EVs. After the electric Subaru Solterra, the brand will show the STI E-RA Concept at the Tokyo Auto Salon in 2022, an EV that is currently still literally and figuratively shrouded in mystery.
The teaser image of Subaru shows at least two LED headlights whose light beams cleave through the smoke screen. The daytime running lights consist of two U-shaped LED strips that are connected to each other by a bar containing the STI logo. The viewers are somewhat similar in shape to that of the Forester, but from the teaser image it is not yet clear whether this is an SUV. In another photo, Subaru already shows a virtual version of the stand, on which a higher model is still under a cloth. There is a chance that this concerns the STI E-RA.
The only thing Subaru is saying about the STI E-RA for now is that it is a new project with the aim of gaining experience with new, zero-emission technologies in the motorsport world. Whether the STI E-RA will also appear in production form is not yet clear at this point. In any case, we will know more at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon 2022. In addition to the E-RA, Subaru will also show the WRX S4 STI Performance Concept, the Levorg STI Performance Concept and the Subaru BRZ STI Performance, all models equipped with special STI Performance parts.
