Suzuki announces price of GSX-8R

Suzuki has announced the price of the GSX-8R, the fourth model of the new 800 platform, and it is really not bad at all. Suzuki’s latest supersport, which was developed according to “The New Standard of Sport” principle, is only slightly more expensive than the GSX-8S introduced this year.

Suzuki announces price of GSX-8R

It was one of the surprises at the EICMA in Milan last month, the completely new GSX-8R, with which Suzuki, like Aprilia and Yamaha, has given a new meaning to the middle-class super sport. The looks of a Supersport, but combined with a block and bicycle part that is aimed at the circuit and the street and not purely and solely for the circuit. Or better said: developed for the street, but also suitable for the track.

Suzuki calls this the “The New Principle of Sport”, aimed at offering accessible performance and maximum driving pleasure, combined with attractive super sports styling. A bike that is suitable for a variety of rides, from a short trip through the city to an exciting ride in the mountains, with or without someone on the back. Or a day at the circuit.

Characteristic of the GSX-8R are the now famous 86 hp 776cc parallel twin, a robust frame, a separate clip-on handlebar made of forged aluminum, the uniquely shaped aluminum swingarm, the upside-down front fork from Hitachi Astemo (SHOWA), the Hitachi Astemo (SHOWA) monoshock at the rear, dual disc brakes at the front with radial 4-piston calipers and Dunlop Sportmax RoadSport 2 tyres.

Just like the GSX-8S, the GSX-8R with full fairing is also equipped with LED lighting all around and a multifunctional 5-inch TFT color display. The electronics package includes systems such as Suzuki Drive Mode Selector, Suzuki Traction Control System, a Bi-directional Quickshifter and the Ride-by-Wire Electronic Throttle System.

Suzuki supplies the GSX-8R in three colors, starting with Metallic Triton Blue (YSF) combined with gray colored rims. This color symbolizes Suzuki’s brand identity. The GSX-8R is also available in Metallic Mat Sword Silver (QKA) combined with red rims and the subdued but sporty Metallic Mat Black (YKV) combined with black rims.

The new GSX-8R is available from 10,999 euros and is available as an A2 variant at no additional cost. Like every other Suzuki motorcycle, the GSX-8R comes with a 6-year warranty as standard and there is an extensive availability of accessories and accessory packages.
