Suzuki can hardly handle the international demand for the Jimny. The demand for the angular and likeable all-terrain vehicle will undoubtedly become even greater. Suzuki has started testing a longer version of the Jimny and that of course indicates that a new body style is on the way.
The Suzuki Jinmy was helped to a completely new generation in 2018 after about twenty years. For the time being, we only know the Suzuki Jimny as a three-door. Just like its direct predecessor, although there was also a version with a soft top. The Jimny is by no means spacious, but Suzuki has plans to expand the delivery range of the Jimny with a longer version. The first photos have now been taken of that stretched Jimny.
Suzuki Jimny
About this time last year, we wrote about the possible arrival of a five-door Jimny, a variant that Maruti Suzuki would produce in India, where it recently added the Jimny to the production portfolio of its factory in Gurgaon, India. The camouflaged Jimny visible in these spy photos appears to be an early version of that five-door Jimny. Although the rear doors are not yet in place, the part behind the front doors is clearly a lot longer than with the already known three-door. Incidentally, there are also rumors that in addition to the five-door Jimny that is to be presented, the Jimny also has a pick-up version of his off-roader in the barrel.
Since its introduction in 1998, 7,844 Jimnys have been sold in the Netherlands. Last year, the keys to 75 copies of the current generation Jimny were sold. In 2019, the sales counter ended at 179 units. Currently, the Jimny in the Netherlands is only available as a Professional, a version without a back seat for the business market.
