Tesla Build Quality – Brand New Tesla Model 3 Comes Without Brake Pads!

The build quality of Tesla is legendary! And we don’t mean that in a positive way. Because when you receive a brand new Tesla, the question is always what is loose, missing or falling off along the way. However, we have not yet seen a Tesla Model 3 that was delivered to its buyer without brake pads. Until now …

Tesla Build Quality – Brand New Tesla Model 3 Comes Without Brake Pads!

It happens again every few weeks. Then a message comes out about a brand new Tesla that loses its glass roof on the way or whose steering wheel comes loose. Tesla has lost large orders due to poor build quality. Dutch Tesla drivers have even gone to court over the problems and poor customer service. Amazingly, CEO Elon Musk has even said that you should never buy a Tesla from the first series. Then all the problems are not over yet. Just imagine if the CEO of BMW or Volkswagen would say that…

Tesla Model 3 makes scraping noises while driving

Anyway, we can add another episode to the Tesla build quality soap. A lady from Tampa, Florida, picked up its new Tesla Model 3 Performance in December. Immediately she noticed something strange. Weird scraping noises were coming from the left rear wheel. The closest Tesla service center was out of space for the next three weeks, so she was asked to make a video of the problem and send it in. “Several Tesla technicians have watched the video,” a service employee emailed her back a day later. The sound was completely normal, was the conclusion.

Conclusion: Tesla forgot to install brake pads!

The American woman did not believe it and went to an independent Tesla specialist. He removed the rear wheel and immediately saw that no brake pads had been installed (how on earth does something like this get through quality control at Tesla?). Because the woman had already driven the car, the brake disc and caliper were also damaged. The Model 3 was picked up by Tesla itself in December and will be repaired under warranty. However, the owner still has not returned her car. She didn’t get a loaner car either – Tesla didn’t have one available – so she had to make do with Uber credit.
