Tesla Model S and Model X more expensive again

Tesla has made a price change on the Model S and Model X. Both the Long Range Plus and Performance models are now € 5,000 more expensive than before.

The days when you could buy cars like the Tesla Model S as relatively modest 60, 70 or 85 with even only rear-wheel drive are now far behind us. Those who shop for a Model S at Tesla can only choose the twin-engine Long Range Plus, the Performance Plus and the mighty 1,100 hp Plaid with three engines, which will be available at the end of next year. The € 5,000 price increase for both the Model S and Model X did not come out of the blue.

It was recently announced that Tesla would be making a series of changes to the Model S and Model X, adjustments that would improve the range of the cars. Those improved versions have now arrived in the Netherlands. Where the Tesla Model S Long Range Plus previously reached 610 kilometers on a battery charge, that version now has a range of 652 kilometers. There is also good news for the Model S Performance. That version now has a range of 639 kilometers instead of 593 kilometers. As Long Range Plus, the Tesla Model S has a starting price of € 84,990. Tesla now charges € 101,990 for the Model S Performance.

Similar differences apply to the Tesla Model X. The Model X Long Range Plus used to travel 507 kilometers on a full battery, but now has one range of 561 kilometers. The new range of the Model X Performance also gets a good dose of extra mileage. Where the Tesla Model X Performance previously had a range of 487 kilometers, that version now comes 548 kilometers. The price of the Tesla Model X Long Range is now € 93,990. The Model X Performance costs € 110,990. Whether the adjustments are purely software-related or whether new hardware has also been installed is currently unknown.
