The iPhone 15 Pro runs on the new A17 Bionic chip and is reportedly much faster than the iPhone 14 Pro. New rumors now reveal how fast the processor is.
Apple introduces new A17 Bionic chip
Next month, Apple will present the iPhone 15 Pro, which presumably runs on the new A17 Bionic chip. The iPhone 15 (Plus) still has to make do with the A16 Bionic chip, which is the processor that currently runs the iPhone 14 Pro (Max). The next iPhone will therefore have a completely new chip, which is said to be a lot faster than the current processor in the iPhone 14 Pro (Max).

New rumors are already revealing how fast the iPhone 15 Pro is, because the results of a Geekbench test have leaked. This shows that the new processor in the iPhone is a lot faster than the current A16 Bionic chip. And not only that, the iPhone 15 Pro also beats the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the OnePlus 11 according to the test. That’s how fast the new phone is according to the Geekbench test.

The iPhone 15 Pro is that fast
The results of the Geekbench test show that the iPhone 15 Pro is quite an update compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max. In the single core score – where all processor cores are used to perform one task – the new iPhone scores 3269. With the iPhone 14 Pro Max this is 2523 and with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra this is only 2000. The iPhone 15 Pro is therefore a lot faster.
Geekbench 6 single core score | Geekbench 6 multi-score core | |
iPhone 15 Pro | 3269 | 7666 |
iPhone 14 Pro Max | 2523 | 6396 |
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra | 2000 | 5164 |
OnePlus 11 | 1536 | 5065 |
The iPhone 15 Pro also performs extremely well when multiple tasks are performed at the same time. The multicore score of the new phone is 7666, compared to a score of 6396 for the iPhone 14 Pro Max and 5164 for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. The new iPhone is therefore extremely fast, and that is probably due to the processor with the greatest improvement in years.
The new A17 Bionic chip is made with a new manufacturing process. The processor is said to be a 3nm chip, while current processors are still 5nm chips. An important advantage is that 3nm chips are much faster than 5nm chips, that difference is now clearly visible in the Geekbench test. In addition, the 3nm chips are more energy efficient, so the battery of the iPhone 15 lasts longer.

Want to know more about the new iPhones?
The latest iPhone will soon be a lot faster. The iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to score about the same on the Geekbench test, as the phone has the same A17 Bionic chip. The regular iPhones then score comparable to the iPhone 14 Pro (Max), because they most likely run on the same A16 Bionic chip.
