The App Store works overtime every week to handle the never-ending stream of new apps and updates. However, you will hardly notice this, because only a small part of it is worth installing. If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch can use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.
1. Notch Remover
Not everyone is a fan of the ‘notch’, the snack that has been taken from the iPhone X screen for the Face ID camera and various sensors. As you can read in the iPhone X review, we do not bother ourselves with the notch, because the cut-out quickly disappears when you focus on the screen. Nevertheless, there are a lot of users who find the crop disturbing in daily use, because it stands out even more when watching videos, for example.
The new app ‘Notch Remover’ offers a solution. As the name suggests, the app will cut out the crop. The application does this by making the top of the screen (where the notch is located) black, so that it is less noticeable. In practice, a black bar is placed over the top of your wallpaper, making it look more like a notification bar.

2. Firefox
Firefox Quantum (as the update is called) is the biggest improvement since the introduction of the browser. A lot of work has been done to the code of the web browser, making it a lot faster. According to Mozilla, Firefox is significantly faster than Chrome, which is the most used worldwide. How the browser compares to Safari in terms of speed, the company leaves open. Firefox also uses 30 percent less RAM than Chrome and loads multiple tabs faster at the same time.
Also striking about Firefox 57 is the new ‘Photon’ interface. The web browser looks a lot more modern and especially minimalist than previous versions. In addition, the developers have made sure that Firefox looks good on all screens; it does not matter whether you use an iPhone or Mac (Book).

3. Calling Sinterklaas
The app that shot straight to the top of the App Store charts this weekend was the Bellen met Sinterklaas app. With this app you can request a personal phone call from Saint Nicholas, or send a text message to which the Goedheiligman will respond himself.
You can also use many other nice functions with the voicemail function. After all, by filling in some information in the app, the Saint knows exactly what to say to the child on the other end of the line. Is it Christmas Eve already? 4. I Am The Hero
I Am The Hero is a classic beat ’em up game recently released for iOS. The game is all about the action: you make your way through all the worlds by using all kinds of different moves. That looks pretty spectacular, especially because the game has a cool graphic style, reminiscent of games from the past.
The game offers a story mode in which you go after a group of villains as a ‘Hero’ to find out what evil plans they have. If you’ve had enough of the single-player mode for a while, you can get started with the ‘Survival Mode’, in which the aim is to survive as long as possible against waves of enemies.
