The best iOS apps at a glance
The App Store is working overtime every week to process the endless stream of new apps and updates. However, you hardly notice this, because only a small part is worth installing. If your iPhone or iPad could use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.
1. Halide Camera
It is now possible to view an RGB histogram of a photo in our favorite camera app Halide. With an RGB histogram you can see how the colors are distributed in a photo and whether a certain color appears too little. For example, if you take a photo of red roses, you will see that there is not enough red ‘color data’ in the photo.
This way you know that you can make the photo even more beautiful by shooting it underexposed and editing it. The existing Smart RAW feature has also been improved. That is a modified version of RAW photography that automatically enhances the photos. This feature now uses machine learning to compose the best possible RAW photo.
2. The Stillness of The Wind
The Stillness of the Wind is about goatherd Talma. One by one, everyone has exchanged their village for the city, except her. Now of age, she leads a simple life in the countryside. Feed the goats, make cheese with their milk, collect eggs and grow crops.
You can then exchange the proceeds with the merchant for hay, exotic objects or new seeds. How you organize Talma’s day is entirely up to you. The letters from family and friends in the city leave Talma wondering where the time has gone that she knows. This piece of story continues to grow, and gives the at first glance superficial game depth that you keep thinking about.
3. Flash Master
From now on, Flitsmeister also warns you at obscure railway crossings. In collaboration with ProRail, the traffic app wants to ensure more road safety at about three hundred such railway crossings.
In addition, the update also adds the option to link your calendar to Flitsmeister. As soon as you search for a destination for your navigation in the app, you will receive suggestions for upcoming appointments. This way you can navigate to your next appointment with a tap on the screen.
4. Spicy Piggy
Another great platform game has hit the App Store: Spicy Piggy. You have to get the hot piggy to get as many peppers as possible, while avoiding obstacles and difficult enemies.
The goal is to complete the level in the best time possible. The pace of the running piglet is therefore high, and you can easily operate it with one hand. In three different worlds with quite a few levels, you will face increasingly hotter fires and have to defeat more difficult opponents.
