The government comes to the rescue of car companies: postponement of payment of bpm

The government now also comes to the aid of car companies during the corona crisis. According to the Bovag, it is possible for dealers and importers to get a deferment for paying taxes.

The Ministry of Finance confirmed this to Bovag. This allows car companies to pay the bpm later on new cars. The usual monthly payment is now converted into a payment per quarter. It is not yet certain, but the Bovag expects that this new regulation will also apply to imported cars. The scheme is expected to take effect on April 1 and is intended to ensure that companies have more breathing space during these drastic times.

Companies with liquidity problems for the payment of their tax debts can now also appeal to “special postponement” with the Tax Authorities. This applies to income tax, corporate tax, VAT and payroll taxes. If you want to request a postponement of more than three months, you must send an extra statement from a third expert.
