iPad Air 2026 release: these are the highlights
Apple has unveiled the iPad Air 2026 and at first glance, much has remained the same (again). But Apple has still made some interesting changes.
iPad Air 2026 in brief
- Runs on the M4 chip;
- Available in 11 or 13 inches;
- Protected with Touch ID;
- Support for Apple Intelligence;
- N1 chip comes to the tablet;
- Available in colours space gray, blue, purple and starlight;
- 12GB to working memory;
- Price starts at 669 euros.
The iPad Air 2026 is now equipped with the brand new M4 chip and more RAM (12 GB). We previously saw this lightning-fast chip in the iPad Pro and the latest MacBooks. This chip makes the iPad Air 2026 faster and better than ever.
But that’s not all, because Apple has also put a new wireless chip in the tablet. You may know this N1 chip from the iPhone 17 series. While the iPad Air 2025 still had support for WiFi 6E, WiFi 7 is now coming to the new tablet thanks to this chip. That means faster internet and a more stable wireless connection.
But that’s not all, because the N1 chip also has support for Bluetooth 6. You won’t notice much of this in practice, but it does ensure that the connection of your wireless accessories is a bit faster.
However, Apple has made no changes to the design of the iPad Air. The design therefore remains the same as the iPad Air 2025. Furthermore, the iPad Air 2026 is available in both an 11-inch and a 13-inch version.
