Apple presents iOS 19 on Monday 9 June during the WWDC 2025 and these are all the new functions that you can expect on your iPhone.
New functions in iOS 19
During the Keynote on 9 June, Apple will announce iPados 19, MacOS 16, Watchos 12, TVOS 19, Visionos 3 and other software updates in addition to iOS 19, together with new Apple Intelligence functions. We give you an overview of the most important iOS 19 rumors.
A new design
iOS 19 gets a new design that is more like the Visionos operating system of the Apple Vision Pro headset. According to Jon Prosser IOS 19 gets a glassy appearance from Front Page Tech, with transparent menus, buttons and more. He also expects a new floating tabbeam at the bottom of a number of Apple apps.
Mark Gurman Van Bloomberg also expects iOS 19 to get a Visionos-like design. According to him, the design changes are the largest since iOS 7. The design changes are probably also applicable to iPados 19, MacOS 16, Watchos 12 and TVOS 19.

Internship Manager
In April Majin Bu That iOS 19 offers support for a limited version of Stage Manager on iPhone models with a USB C port. He adds that there may be more limitations than is the case with Stage Manager on iPads. iPhone models with a USB-C port include all iPhone 15 models and newer.
Improved battery life
iOS 19 gets a new AI-supported battery management mode for all compatible iPhone models. This improvement analyzes how someone uses his iPhone and makes adjustments to save energy. This makes the battery last longer.

End-to-end encryption for RCS
Apple is planning to add support for end-to-end encrypted RCS messages to the Message app in iOS 19. Here are five new functions that you can expect for RCS conversations on iOS 19:
- End-to-end encryption, which means that Apple and other third parties cannot read messages and appendices.
- In-line answers.
- Edit messages.
- Delete messages.
- Full tapback support for RCS messages.
Apple has not indicated which iOS version RCS will upgrade, but iOS 19 or a follow-up date such as iOS 19.1 or iOS 19.2 seems likely.
Translate live with your AirPods
Probably at least a few AirPods models will receive a new live translation function in iOS 19 and a corresponding firmware update. That function works as follows: if an English -speaking person hears someone talking in Spanish, the iPhone translates the text and passes it on to the user’s AirPods. The words of the English speaker are translated into Spanish and played by the iPhone.

New accessibility features
Earlier this month, Apple gave a taste of new accessibility functions that are expected to make their debut in iOS 19. An overview of some of the new functions:
- Labels in the App Store, with which accessibility facilities are marked in apps and games.
- Apple extends the magnifying glass to the Mac, so that users can connect an iPhone or USB camera to zoom in and read text on objects around them.
- Movement instructions for vehicles are extended to the Mac, to prevent movement disease in a vehicle.
- A new accessibility reader on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision Pro makes text more readable for users with visual impairment or dyslexia. The function offers users new ways to adjust text and to concentrate on the content they want to read, with extensive options for font, color and spatting.
- Live subtitles comes to the Apple Watch, so that users can read a transcription of what their iPhone hears on their wrist.
- An improved zoom function on the Apple Vision Pro enables users to increase everything they can increase, including their environment, using the main camera of the device.
- With Braille Access for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Vision Pro, your device becomes a fully functioning Braille device.
- Personal voice becomes faster and more user -friendly thanks to the progress in machine learning and artificial intelligence on the device itself. Apple says that the function will be able to make a smoother, more natural sounding reproduction of your voice in less than a minute, using only 10 admitted sentences.
- CarPlay will support the large text option and the sound recognition will be able to recognize a crying baby and passing sirens.
