Technosignatures Around Exoplanets: How Extraterrestrial Civilizations Might Give Themselves Away.
If there are spacefaring civilizations near nearby stars that are only slightly more technologically advanced than humanity is today, then these extraterrestrial intelligences could inadvertently betray their existence. Many or large structures in the orbit of their home planet would be noticeable if the planet passed in front of their star from our point of view.
