
The online video player app has a new function to display a message asking to take a break. Here’s how to set it up.
Watching too many videos on YouTube? It’s not good for your eyes and your social life. Face it, sometimes you need to take breaks, at least to go to the bathroom.
If you don’t think about stopping, the video streaming service app has a new feature to encourage you to stop. A small alarm system to get you out of your hypnosis.
You must first check that you have a recent version of the app (13.17.55 or higher) and, if this is not the case, update by going to the Play Store or the ‘App Store. We may recommend that you restart your smartphone to be sure that you are launching the correct version of YouTube.
In YouTube, tap your account icon, then Settings and general settings.

Tap on Remind me to take a break. You can then set the frequency of the reminder (from 15 to 180 minutes).

A window will then appear after the elapsed time, asking you to take a break.
