The oracle of Delphi is an important institution for the ancient Greeks. For over 1000 years Delphi relied on its Pythia and its Apollo shrine. Rulers and envoys come from all over the Mediterranean to hear the advice of the oracle. In gratitude, they make Delphi rich – but there are also dangers to being rich.
