Apple presents the iPhone 17 series on Tuesday 9 September and in addition to new functions, we also expect changes in storage options.
These are the options for storage
The iPhone 17 gets all kinds of improvements, including a faster chip, an always-on screen and a 24-megapixel selfie camera. The PRO models get an even faster chip if possible and more memory. But what about the storage options?
iPhone 17
If you buy an iPhone 17 in a while, you probably have the following options in terms of storage space:
- 128 GB
- 256 GB
- 512 GB
These are exactly the same options that you have when you purchase an iPhone 16. For the regular model of the iPhone 17 series, nothing has changed in terms of storage.
iPhone 17 Air
The iPhone 17 Air has no real predecessor, so we cannot say whether something has changed in the storage options. The Air more or less replaces the iPhone 16 Plus. If we compare those two devices, we see that nothing has changed. The options for storage space of the iPhone 17 Air are both the same as those of the iPhone 16 Plus and those of the iPhone 17. That is:
- 128 GB
- 256 GB
- 512 GB
iPhone 17 Pro
With the Pro models you get an extra option for more storage space as standard and this time is no different. These are your options for storage when you buy an iPhone 17 Pro:
- 256 GB
- 512 GB
- 1 TB
This is a change compared to the iPhone 16 Pro. The 128 GB option has fallen away from the iPhone 17 Pro.
iPhone 17 Pro Max
With the iPhone 17 Pro Max we see the same options for storage as with the iPhone 17 Pro, namely:
- 256 GB
- 512 GB
- 1 TB
However, this was also like that with the iPhone 16 Pro Max. So nothing has changed here compared to the predecessor.
The biggest change in storage space is that you can no longer buy a new pro model with 128 GB. The last pro model that this option did have was the iPhone 16 Pro.
