The iOS version of the popular messaging app Telegram has received an update. It adds some useful new features, and we’ll discuss them in this article.

WhatsApp competitor Telegram is used by millions of people and is a bit better with the latest update. The main improvement of version 4.8.3 is that you can replace sent media. There are times when you accidentally send the wrong image to someone. From now on you don’t have to remove the image first and then send the right one, but you can simply replace the image.
You do this by tapping it, holding it for a while, choosing ‘Edit’ and then pressing the paperclip to replace the image. You can also add captions to images that didn’t already have it.
In addition, a handy option has been added for audio and video messages. A new button allows you to play an audio or video file at 2X speed, so you can hear what your conversation partner has to say sooner. This is especially nice if you receive an audio message of a few minutes, and don’t have the time or inclination to listen to it in its entirety.

Finally, you can now mark messages as (un)read, so that you can ‘handle’ less important chats faster. When sharing contacts, you also get the option to send more information, such as an address and date of birth. Telegram version 4.8.3 is now in the App Store, can be downloaded via the link below, and requires 84.5MB of free storage space.
