BYD Han

The Chinese BYD has set foot on Dutch soil via importer Louwman. With the Tang, BYD already has an electric SUV with seven seats in the Dutch delivery range, and an electric sedan will soon be added: the Han. AutoWeek can already report the Dutch price of that BYD Han exclusively.

BYD already opened the Dutch order books for the Tang in October. The Tang is a 4.9 meter long SUV with seven seats that has a starting price of €73,300 in the Netherlands. For that amount you get an electric SUV with two electric motors with 517 hp together. This makes the Tang powerful enough to buzz to a speed of 100 km / h in 4.6 seconds. Its range: 400 WLTP kilometers. The BYD Tang already has a small electric SUV brother in the form of the Atto 3, and those two models will soon be joined by the BYD Han, an electric sedan that is not only faster than the Tang, but also has a considerably larger range. has. AutoWeek can already report what the BYD Han should cost.

Price BYD Han

The BYD Han has a fiscal price of at least €71,525 in the Netherlands. That amount is for the Executive version, which we will return to later. One step above that is the BYD Han as an Emerald Edition. That version has a fiscal starting price of €75,025. Please note, this concerns the Dutch price excluding costs for roadworthiness. With the Tang, the cost of making it ready to drive is €965. If BYD charges the same amount for the Han, that means an entry price of €72,490 for the Executive version. In that case, the Emerald Edition would cost €75,990.

BYD Han: specifications

The BYD Han measures just under 5 meters in length. The electric sedan is 1.91 meters wide and 1.5 meters high. The wheelbase is 2.92 meters. Regardless of the chosen version, the BYD Han has an 85.4 kWh battery and two combined 517 hp electric motors. The Han sprints to a speed of 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds and is therefore faster than the Tang, although the top speed of 180 km / h is the same as that of the SUV. Like the Tang, the Han has BYD’s Blade Battery, though the package is slightly smaller than the Tang’s (86.4 kWh). Thanks to its better streamline, the BYD Han does go considerably further on a full battery. The electric range of the four-wheel drive sedan is no less than 521 kilometers (WLTP).

Just like the Tang, the BYD Han only comes to the Netherlands as an EV. In China, there are also versions of both models with (plug-in hybrid) powertrains with combustion engines.

Equipment BYD Han

As an Executive, the BYD Han has decent standard equipment. For example, the BYD Han Executive is on 19-inch light metal, it has a glass panoramic roof, automatic high beam and an electrically operated tailgate. Leather upholstery, a leather-covered steering wheel and electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated front seats are also available. The same goes for a memory function for the driver’s seat, an induction charger, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 15.6-inch multimedia screen. Also standard: a heat pump, a comprehensive audio system with twelve speakers and a 7-inch display for the rear passengers. The Emerald Edition adds, among other things, a more powerful inductive charger for your phone to the Han, as well as green interior trim that consists of a combination of leather and suede. Carbon fiber-made exterior extras are also part of the Emerald Edition party.
