Apple has added a new setting, which must prevent your iPhone from becoming empty too quickly. Here you will find the handy function!
iPhone empty too quickly
Does the battery of your iPhone regularly empty too quickly? And are you then with an empty iPhone? To prevent that, Apple adds a series of new functions with iOS 26. The iPhone gets several battery functions, which must ensure that the battery lasts longer. One of these is adaptive current, this setting must be switched on if the battery of the iPhone is empty faster than expected.
With adaptive power switched on, the iPhone makes small adjustments if the battery use is higher than normal. It is about adjustments to the device’s performance. For example, the screen clearance is lowered or the loading of certain activities takes a little longer. With these small adjustments, the battery life of your iPhone is extended. Adaptive current is automatically switched on if your iPhone is emptying too quickly, but Apple has added a handy setting to that.
Enable adaptive power notifications
In the latest test version of iOS 26, Apple has made adaptive power even better. Is the battery consumption of the iPhone higher than normal? Then from now on you will receive a notification of this, so that you know that adaptive power is being switched on. That was not yet the case in earlier test versions of iOS 26, the setting was automatically switched on without notification if the iPhone emptied too quickly. This way you call in reports for adaptive power:
- Open ‘settings’ on the iPhone;
- Go to ‘battery’;
- Choose ‘start -up mode’;
- Turn on the switch ‘Adaptive Power Notifications’.
Have you not yet switched on adaptive power? Then turn on the switch after ‘adaptive power’, so that the iPhone switches on the setting automatically if the battery is empty too quickly. From now on the iPhone gives a message if adaptive electricity is active, which is especially useful if certain (background) activities are adjusted. This way you know that the screen brightness is lower and tasks are slower by adaptive electricity.
Release of iOS 26
It is a test version of iOS 26, the name of the new battery function will be adjusted later. Where the institution is still called Adaptive Power Notifications, this is translated into Dutch in the final version of iOS 26. The same thing happened with adaptive current, this feature was also first rolled out in English. The new setting is in any case a handy addition, so that you know when your iPhone switches on adaptive power.
The definitive version of iOS 26 will not be long in coming, because Apple has been releasing the update in a few weeks.
