Your iPhone has a lot of features that are quite hidden away. Face ID also has a hidden setting that will certainly come in handy with this tip.
This Hidden iPhone Setting Is Very Useful (But Almost No One Uses It)
Face ID works quickly and that is very nice. But sometimes the check goes so quickly that you are not sure whether Face ID has been activated or not. Especially when paying with the Wallet app and Apple Pay, it is useful to know for sure whether Face ID has released your debit card for payment.

The iPhone has a useful function for this. From now on, you will feel a slight vibration when Face ID (or Touch ID) is activated. The feature is called ‘Tactile signal during authentication’. You can set this function as follows.
Set up tactile signal with Face ID on your iPhone
- Open the ‘Settings’ app;
- Scroll down and choose ‘Accessibility’;
- Tap ‘Face ID & Attention’;
- Set the slider for ‘Tactile signal during authentication’ to on.
The Face ID vibration works anytime Face ID is used. Consider confirming a purchase in the App Store, logging into a banking app or unlocking your iPhone.
This is Face ID (in short)
Apple introduced Face ID in 2017 with the iPhone X. Because this model was the first iPhone without a home button, Apple had to come up with an alternative to the Touch ID fingerprint scanner. To avoid extra buttons, the company opted for a completely new way to unlock the iPhone.

With Face ID, the front camera was given an extra task. Thanks to additional sensors, the camera can make a 3D facial scan and thus check whether it is you. Once you’ve set up Face ID, unlock your iPhone just by looking at it.
