This is how Apple AirPods work on an Android device

There are many great wireless earbuds on the market. Apple AirPods are by far the best choice for iPhone users. But can you actually use them on an Android? We looked into it for you.

For Android users, there are plenty of alternatives. Think of the Google Pixel Buds Pro and the Sony WF-1000XM4. But Apple AirPods offer that extra bit of luxury. The battery life is impressive and the smart earphones offer many unique features. So it’s no wonder that Android users want to enjoy this too.

Can you use Apple AirPods on an Android device?

Yes and no. Apple AirPods and AirPods Pro are Bluetooth earbuds, so you can pair them with any Android phone or Bluetooth device. But since they don’t officially support Android, some features are not available. For example, checking the battery status and using Siri. As a result, the user experience is not exactly the same as on an iPhone.

This is how you connect the Bluetooth earphones

Connecting your Apple AirPods to an Android device is easier than you think. You can do it in just a few steps. First, open your smartphone’s settings and navigate to the Bluetooth settings. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on and your device is visible to the earbuds.

Now open the charging case of your Apple AirPods and press the white button on the back of the case. When pairing the AirPods Max, press and hold the noise control button for five seconds. This puts the earbuds into pairing mode. Your AirPods will now appear among the available devices in your Android phone’s Bluetooth menu. Tap on the good name and confirm the linking process.
