Apple has been working on a very thin iPhone for quite some time now – here’s how thin and how expensive the iPhone 17 Air will be.
The iPhone 17 Air will be that thin and that expensive
The South Korean SisaJournal has reported that Apple is aiming for the iPhone 17 Air to be 6.25mm thick. If that’s true, the iPhone 17 Air will be the thinnest iPhone ever. The device will then surpass the current record of 6.9 mm set by the iPhone 6.
It also means that the device is approximately 20 percent thinner than the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. And about 25 percent thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Most rumors seem to agree that the iPhone 17 Air will be somewhere around 6mm thick.

This may be the price
According to the Sisa Journal report, the price of the iPhone 17 Air will be comparable to that of the iPhone 16 Plus (1119 euros). Apple is not expected to release an iPhone 17 Plus, so you can see the iPhone 17 Air as its replacement.
According to the report, Samsung also plans to release a significantly thinner smartphone this year. Like the iPhone 17 Air, the Galaxy S25 Slim also have a thickness of about 6 mm.
There have been conflicting rumors before about the design details and specifications of the iPhone 17 Air. Most sources agree on a 6.6-inch screen. Furthermore, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently said that he expects the device to have an A19 chip, a Dynamic Island, a single camera on the back and an Apple-designed 5G modem. In addition, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to be equipped with 8 GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence.
Apple will release all iPhone 17 models in September. Until then, there will undoubtedly be more rumors about the iPhone 17 Air.
