Google has added a new feature in Google Maps, which now shows how busy it is for many locations at certain times.

Google today added a new feature in Google Maps. The latest version of the app shows the best times to visit. Consider, for example, a visit to a museum or restaurant. The option is not yet active at every location in the Netherlands, but it is at the largest and most popular places.
To find the times, search Google Maps for a location you might want to visit. In the example below we have taken the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. Tap your location and you’ll be presented with the usual information, with links to a phone number, the website and a little more below the address and opening times.
By scrolling a little further down you will see the option “Popular times”, next to which you can choose your desired day in a drop-down menu. Directly below is a graph showing how busy the location is at certain times. By swiping away the graph, you can also go through the different days. If you have the latest version of the app and can’t find the option, it’s not available for that location yet.

The latest version of Google Maps can be downloaded via the link below. The app is free, weighs 47.4MB and you will need to run at least iOS 7 to use Google Maps.
