This is how you polish objects with the Magic Eraser in Snapchat

Snapchat gives you more tools to edit your Snaps. This is how the new handy Snapchat Magic Eraser works with which you can polish objects away.

This is how the Snapchat Magic Eraser works

Snapchat version 10.8 is packed to the brim with useful features. These let you repeat a Snap indefinitely, for example. This way, your friends can keep watching your clip, and it won’t disappear until they tap the screen. You can now also draw with emoji, which makes it much easier to place a whole row of the same figures next to each other.

The Magic Eraser is probably a godsend for more people. This clever helper lets you cut out objects or people from Snaps. By moving this digital eraser over your screen, the object disappears and the void is filled by the background. For example, you can take a football out of a photo without it being noticeable.

To accommodate all these new editing functions, Snapchat will look different from now on. The tools are no longer in the center, but in the right corner of the screen.

Polish your Snaps with the Magic Eraser

  1. Open Snapchat and take a picture;
  2. Tap the scissors and select the star icon;
  3. Swipe over the object on the photo you want to delete;
  4. The Snapchat Magic Eraser will now delete the object.

Handy tools for better photos

While testing the function, we did notice that the app has trouble successfully brushing away large objects. Then crazy stripes appear in the picture from other parts of the image. The Snapchat Magic Eraser therefore seems mainly intended for smaller objects that are somewhere in the background. Still, it’s a handy way to make your Snaps look that little bit nicer. Especially when you combine it with the other tools that version 10.8 of the app adds.
