Have you had corona? Then you are entitled to proof that you have recovered from corona. You then use this proof as a corona ticket within the Netherlands, to travel within Europe or for your return trip to the Netherlands. This is how you proceed to put your recovery receipt in the app.

What is a recovery certificate?

A recovery certificate is proof that you have ever tested positive for the presence of the coronavirus. The CoronaCheck app collects the positive test results from the GGD and from other test providers. The test provider must then pass the data on to the GGD.

When can I make a recovery receipt?

You can use a positive test result to create proof of recovery in the CoronaCheck app. You will receive a recovery certificate for use in the Netherlands if:

• you have been tested positive by the GGD. Or another test provider in the Netherlands. A self-test or serological test (blood test) does not count.
• your positive corona test was at least 11 days ago;
• your positive corona test was no more than 365 days ago.

Get your recovery certificate in the CoronaCheck app

Follow the steps below to retrieve your recovery receipt in the CoronaCheck app:

1. Open the CoronaCheck app on your phone
2. Tap the plus sign in the top right and then Recovery Proof
3. Tap the button Log in with DigiD and follow the steps to log in via the app, via SMS or with your passport or ID card
4. The CoronaCheck app now checks whether the GGD has registered a positive test result for you. If so, a recovery receipt will automatically appear in the app.
5. Create a new QR code and you’re done

I can’t get my recovery receipt in the app

That is because you do not meet the conditions as described above. For instance:

• you have been tested (positive) less than 11 days ago. In this case, you can already collect your recovery certificate, but it is only valid on the 12th day after the test has been taken.
• you have been tested (positive) more than 365 days ago. In this case you are not entitled to a recovery certificate.

How can I renew my recovery certificate

The proof of recovery for use in the Netherlands is valid for one year. If you use a recovery certificate to travel, it is no longer valid after 180 days. For a valid corona certificate you then have to get one shot or have a corona test done.

• The proof of recovery for use in the Netherlands is valid for 365 days
• The recovery receipt to travel with (the international QR code) is valid for 180 days

You will receive a notification in the CoronaCheck app if your recovery certificate has expired.

Have you had corona? Then you only need to be vaccinated once. You are then sufficiently protected against the coronavirus. You can put this vaccination in the CoronaCheck app via these steps. Of course you can also get two vaccinations.
