Do you have WiFi problems on your Android phone or tablet, or does the connection with your Bluetooth devices keep dropping? Then it won’t hurt to reset your network settings in Android. You can read how to do that in this article.

It has become somewhat of the headache file for many developers in recent years: the Android land fragmentation. But also for Android users themselves: device settings vary considerably and they regularly miss out on features.

Something as simple as restoring your network settings can work differently on an LG phone than on a Samsung smartphone. Nevertheless, the steps below will go a long way. Phone manufacturers are increasingly opting for the standard Android interface from Google instead of developing their own version, with the exception of Samsung. That is why we also briefly explain how you can restore your network settings on a Samsung device.

That is how it works

With many Android devices, you can often find the network settings in the general settings (via the Settings app or the gear at the top right of your screen in your notification screen). You will probably find the option there Network and internet and the option Reset or something similar. You will probably have to confirm your choice with your access code, password or your fingerprint. Once you’ve performed this reset, you will need to reboot your phone or tablet for the changes to take effect. Then reconnect with your wifi network or your bluetooth device and you will probably get rid of your network problems.

On a Samsung phone

On a Samsung device, before resetting your network settings, you can optionally test your Wi-Fi connection in a safe mode to find out if an app is interfering with the connection. Turn off your device and press the power button to restart it. While you see the Samsung logo press and hold the volume down button and you should see the bottom left corner of the screen Safe mode stand. If your WiFi connection still does not work, you can reset the network settings by going to within the settings of your device General management. Then choose Reset and then for Reset network settings. This will restore both your bluetooth and wifi settings. By the way, keep the password for your Wi-Fi network at hand, as you may have to enter it again after resetting the network settings.
