It is now possible to respond to an old tweet in the Twitter app and create a collection without having to dive into your archive first. That is how it works.
Create Twitter collection
On Twitter it is possible to respond to your own tweet, creating a collection. This collection (or thread) then consists of a series of tweets that form a continuous story. If you later want to add something to such a collection or respond to another tweet that you have previously posted, you previously had to dive into your archive. That is no longer necessary.
It is now possible to search for an old tweet by swiping down. Your latest tweet can then be found immediately, but slightly older tweets can also be displayed.

That is how it works
You tap the round blue button in the app to write a new tweet. Before publishing this tweet, swipe down. You will then see the last tweet you posted before. If you want to link the new message to that tweet, tap ‘Continue collection’.
If you want to attach the new message to another tweet, tap the three dots. In the menu that appears you will see your previous tweets in a row. Place a check mark next to the tweet you want to make a collection of and press the Tweet button to publish.
More Twitter tips
After recent updates, there are even more hidden features that you may not be aware of. For example, did you already know that nowadays you can follow topics instead of accounts? There are also better options for two-factor authentication. If Twitter is important to you, you should definitely enable it.
