This is the electric Dacia Spring Electric Concept!

Dacia will launch a very compact electric car in 2021. With this Spring Electric Concept, the Romanians give a good indication of what we can expect from that electric city car.

Renault has the Twizy, the Zoe and later also a fully electric version of the Twingo in the segment of the compact EVs. Sister brand Dacia cannot stay behind on the EV level, but a Zoe with Dacia badges would logically become too expensive. Groupe Renault has come up with a solution. The Renault City K-ZE, a small electric car that Renault sells in China, is coming to Europe disguised as Dacia!

This Spring Electric Concept is nothing more than a Renault City K-ZE over which the Romanian company has poured its own sauce. The Spring Electric Concept is 3.73 meters long and has a WLTP range of 200 kilometers. Those are the only official figures that Dacia reveals. The Renault City K-ZE, which has been sold in China since last year, has a 26.8 kWh battery pack and a 45 hp electric motor that drives the front wheels. The wheelbase is 2.42 meters.

Fun fact: the Renault City K-ZE is not the only variant of the compact EV. Venucia sells it as e30 and Dongfeng also has its own version of the city EV. In 2021 the compact electric Dacia is to come on the market. Renault promises to be the cheapest electric car in Europe, and that sounds promising.
