Although the official unveiling of the Grand Cherokee L isn’t slated for tonight, the SUV has just made its digital debut via US media. The Grand Wagoneer L is a completely new model with three rows of seats that takes a step above the current Grand Cherokee. The car gives a good indication of what you can expect from the new regular Grand Cherokee.
Jeep is undergoing a significant rejuvenation treatment. The brand recently introduced plug-in hybrid versions of the Renegade, Compassen Wrangler, there is a facelifted Compass in the barrel and in time the brand will expand its range at least in the United States with the production version of the Grand Wagoneer to be presented. The ‘normal’ Grand Cherokee is not yet available, but Jeep is today pulling another new model out of the hat: the Grand Cherokee L. This is a larger version of the yet to be revealed new Grand Cherokee, with three rows of seats and space for at least seven occupants.
Dimensions
At 5.2 meters in length, the Grand Cherokee L is a whopping 38 centimeters longer than the current 2010 Grand Cherokee that is about to be replaced. The wheelbase is 3.09 meters, which is almost 18 centimeters more than that of the Grand Cherokee that you can also buy in the Netherlands. Although Jeep highlights the new Grand Cherokee L fairly extensively, it says little about the platform for the time being, although Techzle is aiming for the Grand Cherokee L, and the Grand Cherokee L, to be on a modernized version of the Giorio platform that we will Know Europe of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Giulia.

Outside and inside
From the outside, the seven-seater newcomer is clearly a Jeep, although the SUV looks much more modern than the almost 11-year-old Grand Cherokee. The car is fitted with 21-inch light alloy and – depending on the chosen version – is available with at least two different bumper sets.

The interior is also completely different from that of the outgoing Grand Cherokee. The interior is not as high-tech as that of the Grand Wagoneer promises to be, although with its 8.4 to 10.1-inch central display and 10.3-inch digital instrumentation the model is nothing to be ashamed of. . The interior is available in various styles. For example, the workplace can be finished with aluminum strips, woodwork and leather. The Overland and Summit versions include 16-way adjustable, heated and cooled seats with massage function. The luggage compartment behind the third row of seats has a volume of 484 liters. If you flatten the third row of seats, you can carry around 1,330 liters of stuff along. Do you not have any passengers to transport at all? Then you have about 2,400 liters of leeway.

As far as engines are concerned, it is all a bit more famous. Jeep will soon deliver it with the 3.6 V6 that is also in the Grand Cherokee and the 5.7-liter V8 will also find its way to the Grand Cherokee L. The SUV is in principle rear-wheel drive, but is also available with four-wheel drive. For the time being, there is no electrified version.
