Bentley expands the Bentayga delivery range with the Speed. The well-known top version with a mighty W12 will therefore also be available for the brand’s recently thoroughly renewed SUV. Welcome Bentley Bentayga Speed!
At the end of June, Bentley introduced the thoroughly revamped Bentayga to the world. The SUV, equipped with a completely new muzzle and a different buttocks, was as yet only presented to the world with a V8 under the hood, but there was more to be done. For example, the 550 hp and 770 Nm strong V8 variant would be joined by the plug-in hybrid Bentayga Hybrid and the sportier Bentayga Speed. The latter is now in public.
The powerful 6.0 W12 with two turbochargers, which in the Bentayga Speed before the facelift produced 635 hp and 900 Nm, is transferred to the updated sports version of the SUV. The time it takes for the monster to sprint from a standstill to a speed of 100 km / h remains the same at 3.9 counts. Maximum torque is available between 1,500 and 5,000 rpm. The top speed of the sportiest version of the Bentayga is 306 km / h. The W12 is equipped with active cylinder deactivation to limit consumption as much as possible, but how many liters of petrol are burned in the cylinders per 100 kilometers driven, Bentley is still keeping under its hat. It is of course not possible to change gears yourself, the Bentayga Speed is always equipped with an automatic gearbox with eight gears.
The character of the Bentayga Speed can be set in Sport, Comfort, Bentley and Custom. The ‘Bentley’ mode is a combination of Sport and Comfort. Bentley has, among other things, tightened up the torque vectoring system of the Bentayga and says it has also recalibrated the aforementioned driving modes. Optionally, the Bentayga Speed can be equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes.
The Bentayga Speed can be distinguished from its milder farmers on the outside by its different bumpers at both the front and rear. In addition, the Bentayga Speed has darker light units and the grille is also executed in a darker color. Naturally, the Bentayga Speed has its ‘own’ wheels, specimens with a diameter of 22-inch. If you check the optional Black Spec pack, you will receive a Bentayga Speed, in which things such as the roof rails, the diffuser, window frames and the wheels are also finished in black. The rear spoiler and side skirts, among other things, are in that case made of carbon fiber. The interior also has a dark finish, although the interior still exudes an especially opulent atmosphere. We see, among other things, seats that are covered with Alcantara, a substance that is also used to finish the steering wheel and the automatic gear lever.
There is not yet a Dutch price tag.
